HSBC Student Loan

You may borrow up to a maximum of €3,500, subject to income and other criteria. A Student Loan may be used for practically any personal (i.e. non-commercial) purpose.

Through a Student Loan you may benefit from a preferential variable interest rate of 4.5% (4.7% APRC) (i.e. a margin of 2.0% over the Bank's Base Rate which is 2.5%).

The maximum amount you may borrow is subject to your financial status, and to further approval by your branch. Terms and conditions apply.

The Annual Percentage Rate of Charge (APRC) on a Student Loan of €3,000, repayable over 5 years at a variable borrowing rate of 4.5% per annum will be 4.7%.

The loan will be repayable in 59 equal monthly instalments of €56.02 and one final instalment of €56.38.

The total amount paid after 5 years will be €3361.56.

To apply for a Student loan you must be a resident of Malta, be a full time student studying secondary or tertiary education in Malta or abroad, aged between 18 and 30 years, and have your stipend credited directly into your HSBC Student account. Other eligibility criteria may apply.
