Our fixed rate Energy Efficiency Loan

An HSBC Energy Efficiency Loan can be used to finance a number of energy saving products and services including:

Solar Products
Install Solar Water Heaters and Photovoltaic Cells (PV) to heat water and generate electricity

Thermal Insulation and Double Glazing
Insulate your property against hot and cold temperatures

Plug-In Hybrid and Electric Cars
Battery operated and combined engine vehicles

You may borrow from a minimum of €600 to a maximum of €50,000 subject to income and other criteria.

When you apply for an Energy Efficiency Loan, we'll ask you to present your ID card, an order form or invoice for the energy efficient item, together with evidence of income. If you're employed and your salary is not credited to an account held with HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c., you'll need to provide your latest FS3 and the latest 3 months’ payslips. If you're self-employed, we'll need up to date income tax returns for the last 2 years. We may also ask for other documentation, depending on your individual circumstances.

When you apply to borrow money from us, we want to ensure that you will be able to meet your monthly repayments. We feel that it would not be in your best interest to take on a commitment which you may find difficult to manage. We will grant you a loan following an assessment on your financial position performed by your branch.

Wherever possible, your salary / income is to be credited directly to an account with HSBC from which loan repayments will be effected.
